About San Diego Botanic Gardens in Encinitas, California

The San Diego Botanical Gardens are located 20 minutes north of San Diego in Encinitas. It features over 35 acres of exhibits, including rare bamboo groves, desert gardens, a tropical rainforest, California native plants, Mediterranean climate landscapes, the Undersea Succulent Garden, landscaping for fire safety, a subtropical fruit garden, and other gardens from around the world. It has trails to walk, a reflection pond and other water features, and countless plants to photograph. There is a snack shop on site and a plant & gift shop. It’s located on Quail Gardens Drive (it used to be called Quail Botanical Gardens) east of I-5.
