About Ben Weston Beach on Catalina Island in Avalon, California

Ben Weston Beach is located on the southwest side of Catalina Island. Getting to Ben Weston Beach requires a hike down the Ben Weston Canyon Trail from Middle Ranch Road road about three miles south of Little Harbor Campground.

The Safari Bus takes you to this remote side of the island from both Avalon and Two Harbors. Because of the long bus ride and hike, few Catalina visitors ever see this beach. Camping is allowed at Ben Weston Beach, but there is no potable water so pack accordingly.

On the end of the ridge north of Ben Weston Beach there are remains of a military bunker and a gun foundation where the Army watched for enemy planes during World War II.

The Catalina Express operates boats daily to Catalina Island from the mainland in Los Angeles, Long Beach, and Dana Point in Orange County.
