About Cameo Shores Beach in Newport Beach, California

Cameo Shores Beach is a sandy beach below the Cameo Shores community in Newport Beach, CA. Getting to this beach requires a walk along a rocky shoreline from Little Corona Del Mar Beach (bring sturdy shoes). The direct access routes to the beach are locked off and only the Cameo Shores residents have keys. Since most of this beach is wet at high tide, it is a public beach. The best time to visit is when the tide is out and colorful tide pools are exposed. On your walk to Cameo Shores Beach from Little Corona you will pass by Arch Rock which is a good spot for watching birds.

Cliff Island, which is nearby to the south of Cameo Shores Beach, is popular in the summer when local kids jump off the cliffs and swim. Don’t try this dangerous activity unless you are there with locals who know where and when to jump (high tide). The island has a natural rock arch in the middle of it known as Ocean Arch.
