About Chadbourne Gulch Beach in Westport, California

Chadbourne Gulch Beach, known locally as Blues Beach, is just south of the small Mendocino County town of Westport. The creek in Chadbourne Gulch flows across the middle portion of the beach during rainy times. The beach extends north and south for beachcombing opportunities but when tide is high the route is shortened significantly. There are rocks offshore on the north end of the beach including one with a large natural arch in it. People drive right onto the beach here and signs do not discourage it, but beware that the sand gets soft in places and it would be easy to get stuck. The parking lot is on the north side of Chadbourne Gulch where Highway 1 follows a large hairpin corner.
