Nick’s Cove and Miller Boat Launch

Miller Boat Launch is a Marin County boat ramp facility on the east side of Tomales Bay across from the Point Reyes Peninsula. It has an overnight parking lot for boaters and kayakers who plan to explore the bay. Nick’s Cove and Cottages is adjacent to the boat launch with an oyster bar restaurant and quaint little beachfront cottages for rent. Nick’s also has a fishing pier and a small beach. Miller Boat Launch is the closest place to launch a boat or kayak for boat-in beach camping on the Tomales Bay portion of Point Reyes National Seashore. Inverness also has a public boat launch and kayak rentals, but it’s a longer trip to the beaches and campgrounds. For kayakers who want to reach these campgrounds, it requires paddling across the bay from Miller while the Inverness route allows a safer route hugging the shoreline. Miller Boat Launch and Nick’s Cove can be found three miles north of the small town of Marshall on the Highway 1 in Marin County.
