About Pete’s Beach in Westport, California

Westport-Union Landing State Beach has two public beaches separated by the private beach at the Westport Beach RV Park & Campground. The southern beach is a little-known California State Beach named Pete’s Beach. It’s located about a quarter-mile north of the Westport General Store in tiny Westport. There is a long pullout parking lot along Highway 1 across from the Westport Solid Waste Transfer and Recycling Center. An overgrown trail with steps that descends to the beach can be found at the south end of this parking lot. Fishing and beachcombing are the main reasons to visit Pete’s Beach. There’s a rock arch in a large cluster of rocks just offshore at the south end of the beach.
