About Point Lobos SNR – Headland Cove in Carmel, California

Headland Cove in Point Lobos State Natural Reserve is known more for wildlife watching than for frolicking on the hard to reach beach. While walking along the Sea Lion Point Trail or the Cypress Grove Trail you can look down on this scenic cove, but otherwise it is difficult to enter from any trail. Point Lobos is a true gem of the California state park system. Plan to spend a full-day here exploring the trails and looking at the rocky coves. Parking spaces here can fill up entirely on nice days so plan to get here early.
