About Rock Point Beach in Bodega Bay, California

Rock Point Beach is a tiny sandy spot amongst huge rocks just south of Duncan’s Landing along the Sonoma County shoreline. Rock Point is a pull-out parking area along Highway 1 that is part of Sonoma Coast State Park. It’s not intended to be a beach access, but just south of the parking lot there is a scramble route that descends the bluff next to a huge rock. This gets you to a small sandy spot that would be excellent at low tide. From Rock Point Beach you can walk north to a wider creek gulch beach below some homes. This area is not part of the state park lands, but all California beaches are public below the mean high tide level so you could climb over the rocks to get there as long as you don’t venture up near the homes. Most people will be okay just stopping to take pictures here, but if you are adventurous, you could check out this hidden spot below. Just be careful on the way down.
