About Younger Lagoon Beach in Santa Cruz, California

The beach at Younger Lagoon Reserve in Santa Cruz is off-limits to the general public, but can be visited through guided tours. Contact the Seymour Marine Discovery Center at Long Marine Laboratory to inquire about docent-led tours of Younger Beach and Younger Lagoon Reserve. They offer other “behind the scenes tours,” family tours, learning programs, and visitor workshops related to marine research. The Marine Discovery Center is open most of the time and welcomes visitors. Check their website for current hours, fees, and exhibits. Even if you are here to see the discovery center and not Younger Lagoon Beach, there is a coastal overlook on the bluff that has a nice view east toward Natural Bridges State Beach. If you have time to visit that beach it is one of best in the area. The Long Marine Lab and Seymour Marine Discovery Center, which are owned by the University of California, Santa Cruz (UCSC), are located at Delaware Avenue and Shaffer Road in western Santa Cruz.
