About Oceano
The small community of Oceano is large in popularity with those looking for the ultimate thrill. With a landscaped dotted with sand dunes, Oceano Dunes State Vehicular Recreation Area is a prime area for all-terrain vehicles, as well as camping, hiking and fishing. Like Pismo State Beach, visitors can drive right onto the beach. Guadalupe Nipomo Dunes National Wildlife Refuge, meanwhile, serves as a National Natural Landmark. Interestingly, it also shares some incredible Hollywood history. The largest movie set ever built, for the silent film “The City of the Pharaoh”, is buried there, beneath the sand.
