Disc Golf Courses in California

Yes disc golf is a fun thing to do with friends and family, but did you know that it is a professional sport? Disc Golf has its own association – PDGA (Professional Disc Golf Association) – and serious players who wince at the sound of “Frisbee Golf.” Innova Discs and other golf disc manufacturers have taken the sport to a new realm with aerodynamic products for a variety of golf conditions. Many players now sport their own carrying bags offering a selection of discs for different course set-ups, wind conditions and distances.

There are over 80 disc golf courses in California alone, and around 1000 disc golf courses in the United States. Millions of people regularly play disc golf, with serious participants estimated at over 40,000 professional members of the PDGA. The top echelon players participate in sanctioned tournaments culminating in the World Championship held annually. The prize winnings have grown along with sponsorship and are now over $130,000 for the PDGA Championship.
