You can ride the ferry boat to Balboa Beach, take a 45 minute boat tour of Newport Bay or catch a Catamaran making the day trip to Catalina Island. “Back Bay” (the inner portion of Newport Bay) is also an ecological reserve for birds and has walking trails for exercise or bird-watching. John Wayne Airport (Orange County, Santa Ana Airport) is less then 5 miles from the hotel. If you are a golfer, the Hyatt Newport also has a 9-hole executive course on site and there are several other full-size courses not far away.

Home to the Hyattt Regency Newport Beach Jazz Festival, rooms book up almost a year previous to some jazz events. From the balcony of certain rooms, you can look out to the open courtyard where the concerts are held. Top jazz artists from around the world play at the venue.
