About Hot Springs Canyon Hike in Santa Barbara, California

Enjoy a hike that leads to the historic site of a former hot springs resort on the hill above Santa Barbara. This once stunning resort was built in the mid-1800’s but was not rebuilt after a devastating fire in 1964. The land was recently purchased from private owners by a land trust to keep it from being developed. Hikers will luckily continue to be able to hike up to this historic spot. The trailhead up to the hot springs site begins 0.2 miles west on East Mountain Drive from the intersection with Hot Springs Road. Note that there are no tubs to soak in, but the site has wonderful views of the city, the surrounding area, and the ocean.
