About Japanese Tea Garden at Golden Gate Park in San Francisco, California

This historic Japanese garden dates back to an expo in 1894 when a one-acre garden was temporarily built at Golden Gate Park in San Francisco. After the expo it was decided to keep the garden and it expanded to five acres over time. Now it is one of the main attractions at the park. A walk around the garden takes you to pagodas, stone lanterns, Japanese zen gardens, koi fish ponds, and an arched drum bridge. Trails and stone pathways meander about the property. Well-manicured bonzi and other trees make for great photos.
