About Klamath River Overlook Picnic Area in Klamath, California

The Klamath River Overlook is high up on a bluff on the north side of the Klamath River mouth. On a clear day it has a superb view of the river where it enters the Pacific and sandy Klamath Beach. A hiking trail descends the hill to a lookout area at the top of a rocky cliff. The views from the picnic tables next to the parking lot are good too. The California Coastal Trail heads north from the Klamath River Overlook and goes to Hidden Beach in three miles and Lagoon Creek Beach in four miles.

To get to the overlook, drive north on Highway 101 for less than two miles from the town of Klamath then turn left on Requa Road. Follow this road past the Historic Requa Inn and up the hill to the clearly signed parking lot.
