Marina Green Park is lined on one side by magnificent houses built in the 1920s and 1930s. The bay side of the park features marinas which are home to both the St. Francis Yacht Club and the Golden Gate Yacht Club. The green is a bustling area on the weekends where many events, including races, are held.
The green sits near a beautiful beach at Crissy Field where visitors can watch windsurfers and sailboarders float across the bay. A small, sunny area at the end of Marina Green features volleyball courts and sun bathing areas. Kite enthusiasts can enjoy the ocean breeze and the huge green expanse which is a great place to fly their kites. Dog lovers can also use the park to enjoy a day out in the sun.
It is also a wonderful place for family picnics and is also very close to the Exploratorium, which is a kid-friendly science museum at the Palace of Fine Arts. Free parking is available at the marina. The public restrooms are well maintained; however, there are no showers for public use. Marina Green Beach is located on Marina Boulevard between Fort Mason and Scott Street.
