About Monterey Zoo in Salinas, California
The Monterey Zoo is located at the Vision Quest Ranch in Salinas. It’s not far from Monterey and the cities on southern Monterey Bay. They offer tours of their facility daily which gets you up and personal with the animals and is educational as the tour guides inform the guests and answer questions. The tours are wonderful for children. The animals include big cats (lions and tigers), elephants, camels and other safari animals. They also have exotic birds, bears, reptiles, bugs, and some unique animals. There is a lot to see.
They also have a bed and breakfast on-site called the Safari B&B. It’s a glamping experience with separate bungalows around the animals. They accommodate 2 to 4 people and the experience is family friendly.
