About Sea Center Santa Barbara in Santa Barbara, California

The Santa Barbara Sea Center is located on Stearns Wharf at the end of State Street in Santa Barbara. This aquarium is part of Santa Barbara Museum of Natural History and was previously known as Ty Warner Sea Center. It includes aquarium tanks, displays and educational exhibits that teach visitors about the local sea environment. As you enter the facility you’ll notice a giant, 30-foot whale dangling overhead. The whale is not real, but offers a visual display showing just how massive these animals are. The center is open every day but Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Day. Tickets are very reasonable and discounts are in place for seniors, children, and teens 17 or younger. If you are visiting the Santa Barbara waterfront and have children with you, the Sea Center is a must.
