About Lost Winds Beach (Lasuens) in San Clemente, California
Lost Winds Beach is situated below a housing development high on the bluff in southern San Clemente. The entrance is between homes at 2006 Calle De Los Alamos just south of the intersection of Calle Lasuen (this beach also goes by Los Alamos Beach and Lasuen Beach).
The access route drops down a long steep stairway and a sloping slippery trail and eventually crosses over the railroad tracks to the sand. On the beach there are usually volleyball courts and a lifeguard tower that is only manned during high visitation times.
The San Clemente Coastal Trail heads north and south from here connecting North Beach to Calafia Beach. Restrooms are about equidistant from here – each about a half-mile walk on the trail.
Look for street parking near the entrance and be careful not to block driveways.
