Camping right at the beach is a unique experience. It is possible in all areas of Northern, Central, and Southern California if you know where to look. We have identified the beach camping spots and campgrounds that are walking distance to the sand up and down the coast.
In the summer, the campgrounds are in high demand and will fill up quickly. If reservations are required for a camp spot, book it well ahead of your vacation. Some of the campgrounds are first-come first-served so there’s still a chance if you have a last second trip to the coast.
