Crystal Pier Hotel & Cottages

Staying at the Crystal Pier Hotel Cottages should be on everyone’s bucket list. These stark white cottages with blue shutters are located right on the pier overlooking Pacific Beach in San Diego. The pier is open to the public during the day, but closed during the nighttime to ensure privacy of the cottage guests. The evening view and the experience is truly unique. Since 1961 these cottages have been allowing visitors to “sleep over the ocean,” a phrase that has become the hotel tagline. Reservations are required and can take up to a year for summer stays. They require a minimum of 2 nights in the winter and 3 nights in the summer, but you’ll want to stay a week!
