About Point Lobos SNR - Hidden Beach in Carmel, California

Hidden Beach at Point Lobos State Natural Reserve isn’t really hidden. Actually it’s one of the easier beaches to find and a nice one at that. Drive the park road to the end and find a spot in the parking lot or along the road near the end. Find a bluff trail called the South Shore Trail that heads back parallel to the road from the parking lot In a short distance a some steps drop down into a small cove with a gray pebble filled beach. This is Hidden Beach. The mouth of the cove is narrow with rocks encroaching from both sides. The South Shore Trail makes a great hike and in the other direction, the Bird Island Trail leads to China Cove, Gibson Beach, and a point that looks out to Bird Island.
