About Peninsula Beach in Long Beach, California

Peninsula Beach of Long Beach is on the ocean side of the Peninsula Neighborhood between 55th Place and 72nd Place. At the southern end of the peninsula you’ll find Alamitos Park and a parking lot, otherwise it’s street parking only along Ocean Boulevard and side streets. The middle part of the beach is narrow, but it widens as you go north. The Long Beach breakwaters and the bay entrance jetties typically protects Peninsula Beach from waves so it’s a nice swimming beach. A boardwalk called Seaside Walk runs almost the full length of Peninsula Beach right in front of the homes that face the ocean. This beach has no facilities except toilets at Alamitos Park. North of Peninsula Beach is Belmont Shore Beach with a pier, bike path, volleyball courts, and nice facilities.
