About Angel Island State Park in Tiburon, California
Angel Island State Park is in the middle of San Francisco Bay just off the Tiburon Peninsula. The island has many roads and trails to explore including some that climb up to the summit of Mt. Livermore at 741 feet above the bay. Tours of all types are available from the standard tourist tram ride to bike rides and even Segway tours. There are military structures and other historical features on the island to discover.
Next to the ferry dock is a visitor’s center with information on where to go and what to see. They have a cafe there too, but you can always pack a lunch or picnic for the day. You’ll find two modest beaches on the island, Perles Beach and Quarry Beach. Plan to spend a whole day on the island as there is so much to do. Campground are available if you want to stay on the island for more than just the day.
Access to Angel Island is via a short ferry ride from the town of Tiburon or a slightly longer ferry ride from Pier 41 on the waterfront in San Francisco. Learn more about the island, the activities, and how to get ferry tickets from the Angel Island Company.
