About Catalina Express Ferry in Long Beach, California

The Catalina Express Ferry is your cheapest, fastest, and safest way to visit Santa Catalina Island. They operate high-speed boats, including large catamarans, that shuttle visitors back and forth between the island and the mainland in just one hour each way.

Avalon is the main port town on Catalina Island. There you will find the most options for places to stay and eat. Avalon has rentals and many different island tour opportunities. Two Harbors is a smaller town with one restaurant, one bed-and-breakfast, and a general store. It’s a great spot to launch a boating, kayaking, hiking, or biking adventure.

There are three Catalina Express ports in Southern California to choose from. All offer long-term parking for extended stays on Catalina.

  1. The main port is in Long Beach. This port offers the most daily trips to Avalon, but doesn’t travel to Two Harbors. The dock is located at 320 Golden Shore in downtown Long Beach.
  2. A nearby port is available in the San Pedro area of Los Angeles. From here you can visit either Avalon or Two Harbors. This port is at Berth 95 near the intersection of N Harbor Blvd and Swinford Street in southern LA.
  3. Dana Point is the closest port to San Diego and south Orange County. The tickets and dock are located at Dana Wharf Fishing at 34675 Golden Lantern St., Dana Point. This port only goes to Avalon. If you want to visit Two Harbors drive up to the San Pedro port.
  4. Another option is the Catalina Flyer out of Newport Beach (carry-on luggage only).
