About Mission San Francisco de Asis in San Francisco, California
Mission San Francisco de Asís, a.k.a. Mission Dolores Basilica, is located in the Mission District of San Francisco at the corner of Dolores Street and 16th Street. It was founded in 1776 and was the 6th mission completed out of the 21 total California Missions. This is the oldest building in the entire city of San Francisco and has survived earthquakes and the Great Fire.
At the mission you can tour the historical basilica, the gorgeous gardens and the cemeterey (the only cemetery in the city). Self-guided tours are available daily and guided tours are possible with advanced reservations. A suggested donation is the only price of admission.
