About Pismo Monarch Butterfly Grove in Pismo Beach, California

The Pismo State Beach Monarch Butterfly Grove is a sight to behold. If you’ve never seen a butterfly grove and you happen to be on the San Luis Obispo Coast between November and February, then stop in to see this one. During those months a grove of eucalyptus trees turns orange when 20,000+ butterflies show up to hang out together. This is one of the winter roost sites for monarchs that live west of the Rocky Mountains in the warmer months. You can find this grove well-signed on Highway 1 just south of Pismo Beach, CA.
