About O'Neill Regional Park in Trabuco Canyon, California

Down winding, narrow roads shaded by trees lies a wilderness within reach of Orange County bustle. Trabuco Canyon begins just a mile or so out of the subdivision housing of nearby cities such as Mission Viejo, Irvine, Lake Forest and Rancho Santa Margarita. In this valley there’s a rustic county park, O’Neill Regional Park, which offers wilderness trails, a stream, picnic areas with BBQs, grass lawns, a playground, and a campground. The 23 miles of trails are open to hiking, mountain biking, and horseback riding. The campground has about 80 camp sites that are open to tent camping and RVs. This public park is a favorite spot for groups such as the Boy Scouts of America. If it weren’t for the sound of craft overhead, you’d forget that freeways, houses and airports are a stone’s throw from this secluded Orange County oasis.
