About Pillar Point Harbor in Half Moon Bay, California

Pillar Point Harbor occupies the north end of Half Moon Bay. It provides shelter for boats traveling up and down the coast south of San Francisco and has a marina for locals who venture out for fishing and pleasure boating. The quaint little town of Princeton by the Bay is on the harbor and is home to restaurants, pubs, a brewery, and a distillery. This town is hopping during the annual Maverick’s Surf Competition that attracts the best big wave surfers from around the planet to Mavericks Beach. A couple small beaches can be found on the harbor (Marsh Beach and Harbor Beach), but it’s hidden Ross Cove Beach that you must discover. A few hotels make it easy to stay here and explore the area, Oceano Hotel, Beach House, and the Inn at Mavericks.
