Carmel Waterfront Scenic Pathway

Scenic Road is the main waterfront drive in Carmel-By-The-Sea. Along Scenic Road there is a walking path that follows the bluff at the back of the beach. This walkway makes for a great sunset walk or a return route after walking south on Carmel Beach. At the south end of the beach there is a set of stairs that goes up to the path. Several more stairways are provide along this road. Benches make it easy to stop at any time along the walk to enjoy ocean view.

Parking spaces can be found at the parking lot for Carmel Beach at the end of Ocean Avenue and more street spaces can be found along Scenic Drive.

Dogs are allowed on leash on the trail and off leash on the beach if under voice control.

If you want to walk farther, Scenic Road continues south all the way to Carmel River State Beach and passes interesting homes along the way.
