About 38th Avenue Beach Access in Santa Cruz, California
The 38th Avenue Beach Access is a stairwell that leads down to a small beach in the Live Oak area of Santa Cruz. At the bottom of the stairs it requires climbing down a pile of boulders to reach the sand. The best sandy spot is around the corner to the left below the steep wall that supports Cliff Drive. Unfortunately access to this beach is difficult if not completely under water during higher tides. Parking is the real problem here. The side streets have permit-only spaces during the day on weekends so you might want to park in the public lot on 41st Ave and walk to 38th during these times.
