About Peninsula Bayside Beach in Long Beach, California

The Long Beach Peninsula separates Alamitos Bay from the Pacific Ocean. There are beaches on both sides of this long narrow peninsula. The sandy beach that faces north toward the bay is called Peninsula Bayside Beach to distinguish it from Peninsula Beach on the ocean side. Bayside Beach is broken up into a couple segments – one from 55th to 61st and one from 63rd to 69th Place. A small marina separates the beach, but a long pedestrian walkway called the Bayside Walk runs nearly this full length including behind the marina. This walk can be combined with a similar path on the ocean side to make a nice walking loop. Parking for Peninsula Bayside Beach is along Ocean Boulevard or one of the side streets. The closest parking lots are at Bayshore Park and Alamitos Park at both ends of the peninsula. Kayak and stand-up paddleboard rentals are available near Bayshore Park between 54th and 55th Place.
