About Sandyland Cove Beach in Carpinteria, California

Sandyland Cove is a private gated community in Carpinteria, CA. The beach here is narrower than the adjacent Carpinteria City Beach. The main reason to walk Sandyland Cove Beach is to get from the city beach to the mouth of El Estero where Santa Monica and Franklin Creeks empty into the ocean. Behind the waterfront homes in Sandyland Cove is the Carpinteria Salt Marsh Nature Park which has excellent trails to walk that lead to observation stations and bird-watching spots.

To get here, park on Ash Avenue in Carpinteria and walk north on the beach. Since the mean high tide level is up near the rocks protecting the homes, this is an entirely public access beach. If the tide is up you might have to walk in the water, but with a gradually sloping beach and usually mild waves this can still be a pleasant stroll.
