Restaurant 1833

Good food and ghosts combine to make this a top restaurant experience in Monterey. A portion of the adobe building that houses this restaurant was built in the year 1833 and was expanded a couple times over the years since. It’s reportedly the permanent home for two ghosts which you can read about here.

The food here is fabulous and it’s a shame that they only serve dinner and are only open five days a week (closed Sundays and Mondays). They are also known for fine craft drinks with a popular bar that opens at 5 p.m. on those five evenings.
