About Thalia Street Beach in Laguna Beach, California

Thalia Street Beach is below the dead end of Thalia Street in Laguna Beach where a long stairway gives access to the shore.

Thalia Street Beach is a divided beach. South of the surf flag the water is exclusively for surfers. North of the flag the waves are open to bodysurfing and bodyboarding. Swimming is not allowed at Thalia and wouldn’t be advised anyway due to a strong rip current. Anita Street Beach is just to the south and swimming is allowed there.

At high tide you’d be lucky to find a dry sandy spot for sunbathing, but the rest of the time it’s a comfy beach. During the winter months this area is quite rocky as the sand gets removed by large waves. Walking the beach in this area is amazing when the tide isn’t high.

For parking, look for metered spaces along Pacific Coast Highway (Hwy 1) and then walk to Thalia Street.
