About Del Monte Beach in Monterey, California
Del Monte Beach is a hidden gem known to Monterey Bay locals. It’s tucked away from the main streets and located on the back side of a coastal housing community. To get here turn toward the ocean off Del Monte Avenue at Casa Verde Avenue. Follow the one-way road up Surf Way all the way to Tide Avenue and park along the street next to the dunes behind the beach. There is a boardwalk trail through the dunes with benches and picnic tables to rest on. The city of Monterey manages Del Monte Beach even though it is on state land. Del Monte is between two sections of Monterey State Beach, Window on the Bay Beach, walking distance to the south, and Houghton M. Roberts Beach, a short beach walk north.
