About Marina State Beach – South Beach in Marina, California

The southern part of Marina State Beach has a little-known separate entrance from the main state park. Marina South Beach is remote considering how close it is to the city of Marina, CA. So remote and secluded that the area south of it, known as Indian Head Beach, has been used as a clothing-optional area for years. Walking up and down the beach is the best option here, but it would be a great place to sunbathe or have a picnic on a sunny day.

To get to the south entrance of Marina State Beach, drive Lake Drive to the end just west of an underpass for Highway 1. There is a parking area for a few cars next to the signed state park entrance.

From your parking spot walk the trail up and over the dunes to the beach. Marina State Beach stretches from here to the main entrance on Reservation Road.
