Sesame Place San Diego

Sesame Place San Diego, formerly known as Aquatica, is a family theme park and waterpark in the San Diego area that’s fun for all age groups. It’s got all the modern big water slides and rides. You’ll find options for single sliders (with and without tubes) and for groups using open rafts and four-person clover leaf shaped rafts. Their wave pool is huge and powerful (with 5 foot waves) and their calm pools are cozy and inviting. And yes, they have a lazy river. Younger kids will play for hours in the splash pool with smaller slides, and in the play area with water jets, hoses, and geysers.

The park is typically open every day in the summer months and on weekend only in late spring and early fall.

The park is located inland in Chula Vista about a half-hour drive from downtown San Diego, Coronado and Imperial Beach. If you are staying in La Jolla or the coastal towns in northern San Diego County (Del Mar, Encinitas, Carlsbad, and Oceanside) expect a much longer drive and avoid rush hour traffic.
