About Greenwood State Beach Visitor Center & Museum in Elk, California

If you drive the Mendocino Coast on Highway 1, be sure to stop in at the Greenwood State Beach Visitor Center and Museum on main street in tiny Elk. They have loads of information on the area and a small museum with historical photos and antiques from the old lumber mill days (1800s). It’s walking distance to Greenwood State Beach and the Elk General Store. Both are must sees. The visitor center is open March through November from 10am to 4pm Wednesday through Sunday.
