About Mission San Raphael in San Rafael, California

Mission San Raphael is located north of San Francisco Bay in San Rafael. It was completed in 1817 and was one of the last missions built in the chain of 21 California Missions. It is still an active church today. Tours of the mission and the museum are available daily. There is a gift shop on site as well. Several beaches are nearby on San Francisco Bay including China Camp State Park. Many more ocean beaches can be found not far away in the coastal Marin cities of Muir Beach and Stinson Beach.
