About China Camp State Park Beach in San Rafael, California

China Camp State Park is a large state park on San Pablo Bay north of San Francisco. China Camp Beach is located at China Camp Village just off North San Pedro Road. The village has a visitor center and exhibits about the historical shrimping operation that went on here in the late 1800s. Parking is available at the village near the fishing dock and also at China Camp Point Picnic Area. Other picnic areas are spread around the park and walk-in tent campsites are available too. Many trails meander through the park for hiking, mountain biking, and horseback riding. Accessible areas are available including nature trails and easy access camp spots. On weekends a snack store is open next to China Camp Beach. China Camp State Park is surrounded by even more protected public lands in the San Pedro Open Space Preserve and Harry A. Barbier Memorial Park. To get here, turn off Highway 101 onto North San Pedro Road and head east to the park.
