About 36th Avenue Beach Access in Santa Cruz, California

The beach located between below East Cliff Drive at 36th Avenue in Santa Cruz isn’t a large beach and at high tide, isn’t really a beach at all. This is mostly a surfer entrance location. The county has built a rock walls to protect the bluff from erosion and installed a nice stairway from Cliff Drive to the shore. There are spaces on the rocks for a better ramp down to the beach at this location. Next to the stairs is one house built on the cliff. On the other side is a park with a couple benches that provide a great spot for watching the surfers. Parking on side streets is a problem on weekends because of permit requirements so look around for legal public spaces during those times.
