Cantus Cove

Cantus Cove is a small hidden cove located in the Mendocino Coast town of Caspar. The Mendocino Land Trust has acquired the property and put in a 0.3 mile hiking trail from the trailhead to an overlook above the cove. Unfortunately, the cliff walls that surround the cove make it unsafe to get down to the beach and vegetation has grown up obscuring much of the view. It’s not really worth the effort to seek out this vantage point. The Cantus Cove trailhead is in the middle of a neighborhood. See our map to locate the unnamed road off Pacifica Drive about 1000 feet from Caspar Road. The address at the road entrance is 45350 and the address next to the trailhead is 45352. Caspar Beach is nearby if you are seeking a sandy beach. Caspar Headlands State Natural Reserve is nearby for better trails and views.
