About Coleman Park in Morro Bay, California

Coleman Park is along the north side of the entrance to Morro Bay between Morro Rock and the marina in the city of Morro Bay, California. It’s an ideal place to start a walk to the rock and the beach below it.

The road through this area was re-routed to create space for Coleman Park on the protected waters of the bay. There is no sandy beach right at Coleman park, but a boardwalk leads to the large sand beach below Morro Rock. A paved bike path also runs through the park for biking out to the rock, heading into town, or biking north on the Embarcadero. This is a popular place for launching kayaks and stand-up paddleboards for exploring the waterfront from the water and accessing Morro Dunes Natural Preserve.

The park has a swing set for kids and many picnic tables and benches with views of the marina, the tall power plant stacks, downtown, and Morro Rock.

Parking is available on Embarcadero and Coleman Drive north of the marina next to the park.
