About Kiddie Beach Park in Oxnard, California
Kiddie Beach Park is just inside the Channel Islands Harbor entrance in the Silver Strand neighborhood of Oxnard. It has a roped off safe swimming area for children and a small sandy beach. Although this beach is protected from ocean waves, it can still be dangerous to swim at during periods of high bacterial levels – typically after storms due to runoff. Look for signs or ask the lifeguards if swimming is safe. If you don’t know, then assume that it is not. HealTheBay publishes water tests for this beach. The amount of dry sand at Kiddie Beach is small during high tides. There is a parking lot for Kiddie Beach along South Victoria Avenue on the way to Silver Strand Beach. A paved path starts at the parking lot and follows the harbor shore along San Nicolas Avenue all the way to the ocean beach. Adjacent to the north of Kiddie Beach is a rocky shoreline called Hobie Beach which has a boat launch for kayaks, SUPs, and other hand-carried watercrafts.
