About Memory Park in Pismo Beach, California
Memory Park is a small grass park in the Shell Beach area of Pismo Beach that has picnic tables and benches with splendid ocean views. There is a small beach below Memory Park, but the shoreline is narrow and rocky in these parts. These conditions are better for tidepooling than sunbathing.
The old stairway had crumbled and there was no beach access for several years. It was recently replaced with one that should handle the rough surf that sometimes pounds the bluffs here.
At high tide the beach is mostly wet, but at low tide there are tidepools exposed. These pools are good enough that it is worth checking tide tables to find an optimal time to hike down to the beach.
Free parking for Memory Park is available along Seacliff Drive.
