About Seascape Park Beach in Aptos, California

Seascape Park is a six-acre county park that sits high on the bluff above the ocean in the Rio Del Mar area of Aptos. In the park you’ll find open grassy areas, a playground, and restrooms making it great for families. The park has many pathways that follow the bluff and offer great views of Monterey Bay from benches along the way.

The direct route to the beach from the park is not easy, however steep routes down the eroding bluff exist if you are willing to hop a fence and take a risk. This route would be a better way back up as going down is riskier. The best and safest way to reach the beach is to walk north on the bluff trail past the condos to where it intersects the resort beach trail and then descend that graded path. At the bottom is a wide sandy beach that is well worth the effort.

There are miles of sandy beach to walk in both directions. La Selva Beach is a mile to the south and Rio Del Mar Beach is a mile to the north.

Getting to Seascape Park is a little tricky. From Highway 1 take San Andreas Road to Seascape Boulevard then follow it to a T intersection at Sumner Avenue. Enter the Seascape Beach Resort then turn left. Follow this resort road to a signed parking lot near the end on the left. You can also park along Sumner Ave a couple blocks from its end and walk across the railroad tracks to enter the park.

In the description, it says restrooms. Not sure if they are open during COVID though.
