About Sharp Park Beach in Pacifica, California

Sharp Park Beach is located along Beach Boulevard in Pacifica, CA. The park is a narrow strip of land with grass and picnic tables and benches above the brown sand beach.

Pacifica Municipal Fishing Pier is just one block north of the park at Santa Rosa Avenue. Fishing from the Pacifica Pier is excellent, especially in the summer months, and a fishing license is not required for pier fishing in California. For those who aren’t fishing, it’s still a nice walk out to the end of the pier (over 1000 feet) and there is a café at the pier entrance.

There isn’t much sand exposed north of the pier, but south of it, the beach gradually widens. Farther south beyond the end of the park you can walk on the wide brown sand beach for over about 2/3 mile to Mori Point.

Behind this southern portion of Sharp Park Beach is the Sharp Park Golf Course, an 18-hole public course that first opened in 1932. Between the golf course and the beach you can look into the wetlands of Laguna Salida. Pacifica Coastal Trail, a wide dirt path, parallels the beach for walking or biking along the entire Pacifica waterfront.

At the south end of the Coastal Trail, narrower hiking trails continue onto Mori Point which is part of Golden Gate National Recreation Area. The point has trails and viewpoints looking in all directions along the coastline and into the coastal mountains.
