Mori Point is an open space on a high bluff in Pacifica that was acquired by the National Park Service in 2004. Since then the Golden Gate National Parks Conservancy has turned this into an urban destination for hiking and taking in 360 degree coastal and city views. The point has a long history dating back to the 1800s when Stefano Mori’s family farmed this land. Luckily it has been spared any recent development and now is an excellent park between Rockaway Beach and Sharp Park Beach. Some crumbling concrete structures dating back to WWII can be found on the property. There is a narrow beach below the eroding bluffs of Mori Point, but there is no easy way down. If you want to try to scramble down one of the erosion gulches to the sand, feel free but be careful. It would be best to time an adventure like this with low tide when the beach is widest. If you are looking for more hiking options the Mori Ridge Trail in the Sweeney Ridge area of the park begins across the Highway near Shelldance Orchid Gardens. To find the Mori Point Trailhead access, turn onto Bradford Way from Highway 1 and look for shoulder parking spots on the street. Another parking area is on the west side of Highway 1 across from Reina del Mar Avenue. Mori Point is part of Golden Gate National Recreation Area.
