Rosewood Miramar Beach Hotel

The Rosewood Miramar Beach luxury hotel opened in early 2019. It’s a worthy replacement for an old resort that sat on this prime property on the waterfront in Montecito since the early 1900s but was shut down in 2000.

The resort occupies a large property that spans from Highway 101 to Miramar Beach. On the beach there are 37 large suites in a two-story structure they call the “Beach House.” Each of these beach suites have about 960 SF of space with a fireplace and a terrace overlooking the beach. The resort also has garden suites, regular hotel rooms, extended stay rooms, and accessible rooms.

Onsite they have a several bars and restaurants that are open to the public. Caruso’s is a white tablecloth restaurant on the beach with high prices and a business casual dress-code. The Malibu Farm restaurant is similar to the one at Surfrider Pier in Malibu with a focus on organic locally-sourced ingredients. For less-healthy treats, they have a burger shack called The Scoop Shop with delicious ice cream for desert.

In addition to lovely grounds the resort also offers two outdoor pools, a fitness studio, a wellness spa, and a couple shops (fancy sundries and a worldly clothing/home store).

The only drawback of being on the beach is that this is where the railroad tracks are, but this is a common challenge for resorts on the California coast.

To get to the Rosewood Mirarmar Beach hotel, take Exit 93 off Highway 101 just east of Santa Barbara.
